About Us
Giving Direct Financial Assistance to LOCAL Families battling Cancer or Leukemia Since 2009.
Our Story
Our President and one of our founding members, Julie Bradley, had a desire to start an organization years ago after witnessing and personally experiencing the financial hardships that Cancer puts on a family, with or without insurance. One month after losing her mother to Cancer, her sister, a 30 year old single parent was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She recalls her sister's main concern was how she could afford to maintain her bills & keep a since of normalcy for her kids, while fighting for her life. Unfortunately, 13 months later her sister lost her battle to Cancer. After seeing the physical and financial stress this disease put on her family, she and several close friends decided to host a Halloween Charity Ball in 2009 with the purpose of donating 100% of the proceeds to a local family that was in need of assistance in memory of our loved ones.
After our Halloween Ball, we donated our proceeds to a local family that was overwhelmed with medical and everyday bills once their household income went from 2 to 1 since the husband had to quit work due to his battle with Cancer. Once we found out our donation helped save their home, we knew we had to do more. Therefore, we started hosting other annual events to help other local families.
